Boulder Police Department

The Boulder Police Department is looking for motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join its team of dedicated law enforcement professionals.

Boulder PD is a great place to begin your law enforcement career, and because of our size, as well as the number of collateral and promotion opportunities, it is also an excellent place for lateral transfers.

In order to be considered you must be at least 21 years old and have either 60 accredited college credit hours (minimum grade of c), or four years of full time, active military experience, or four years of applicable lateral law enforcement experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. You can not have any felony, or domestic violence convictions on your record.

Desired qualifications include a four year college degree, bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/SE Asian), Colorado P.O.S.T. certification, and experience with computers.

In addition to providing for the safety of the public, the responsibilities of a Boulder Police Officer also include:

  • Patrolling designated areas.
  • Utilizing problem solving and investigative skills.
  • Enforcing traffic and criminal laws.
  • Coordinating information and resources to address crime problems and developing solutions.
  • Interacting and working with diverse groups of people
  • Other duties as assigned.

Starting salary is $45,455 per year with added salary incentives for candidates who have prior experience and Colorado P.O.S.T. certification.
